In the past, Saudi Arabia was primarily renowned for its two Holy Mosques. However, in recent years, the country has gained recognition for its remarkable landmarks and stunning beaches. While many of its breathtaking destinations remain undiscovered and underappreciated, initiatives like the Vision 2030 programs are striving to unveil these hidden treasures and showcase the country's rich tourism potential to the world.

Empty Quarters - Rub' al Khali

It is a great place to visit, especially if you are interested in exploring the desert landscape. Rub' al Khali, or Empty Quraters, is the world's largest desert, spanning over 650,000 square kilometers across Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, and Yemen. The desert terrain varies, with surface elevations reaching around 2,600 feet above sea level. It boasts numerous sand dunes, some towering up to 250 meters, interwoven with gravel and gypsum.

The largest desert is among the driest places on Earth. It annually receives less than 3 cm of rainfall in some parts and no rain throughout the year in other areas. The sand color here is reddish-orange due to the presence of feldspar. Within the desert lie five distinct types of sand dunes, offering a diverse landscape for various adventures and thrilling desert activities.

Al Souda - Majestic Mountain

One of the best places to visit in Saudi Arabia is the stunning mountain, located at about 3,000 meters above sea level in the Asir region. The lush green mountains draped in juniper trees draw many tourists each year. The natural beauty of the mountain, fresh air, and pleasant weather is nothing short of paradise for nature lovers. Tourists exploring the mountain can visit the Rijal Almaa Village, a village housing many ancient forts and museums to offer an insight into the region's history. After visiting the village, tourists can rest and walk along the beautiful paved paths in the Asir National Park, which stretches all the way to the Red Sea coast. Tourists visiting the beautiful village can engage in various activities such as riding a cable car connecting one mountain to another and enjoying the beautiful valleys and surroundings. Hiking enthusiasts can also explore hiking trails.

Tourists can conveniently reach Al Soudah from Abha International Airport, which is located less than 50 km away. Winter is the best season to enjoy visiting the mountain, while many tourists prefer to visit in August to enjoy the Flowerman Festival celebrations.

Wadi Al Disah

A beautiful mountainous area situated in the southwest Province of Tabuk. Wadi Al Disah is 4000 square meters away from Tabuk. The valley is about 400 meters above sea level with varying temperature ranges from 12 degrees centigrade to 31 degrees centigrade. It is mainly located in the Prince Muhammad bin Salman Natural Reserve. Al Disha is an Arabic term, which translates to the "valley of palm trees". Upon reaching the valley, you will learn the reason for the name given to the valley. The beautiful valley is surrounded by tall sandstone cliffs offering endless opportunities to explore the awe-inspiring vistas.

Wadi Al Disah is located about 260 km from Tabuk city. It takes two hours to reach the valley from Tabuk. Tabuk is easily accessible from every part of Sauid Arabia, but it's better to take a flight to reach Tabuk. If you are planning to explore Tabuk, winter is the best season to visit the valley.

Farasan Islands - A Marine Biodiversity

The Farasan Islands, a breathtaking cluster of coral islands situated nearly 40 km away from the Jizan coast in the Red Sea, is a place of immense historical significance and undeniable beauty, making it an unmissable destination when visiting Saudi Arabia. The islands consist of over 84 islands, and Farasaan Al-Kabir is one of the largest among them. However, only three of these islands are open to visitors. The Farasan Islands are home to pristine coral reefs, a diverse range of marine animals, and rare bird species, making it a veritable paradise for nature lovers. To cater to the needs of visitors and tourists, the island features luxurious hotels and on-site restaurants that serve an array of culinary delights.

Najdi Palace and Century Beach are among the top attractions of the Farasan Islands. Najdi Palace is an ancient building well-known for its unique architecture, which recreates an ancient era. While the Century Beach is known for its crystal-clear water, white sand and many marine plants. Tourists can reach Farasan Island through ferries from Jizan city.
